A tabletop demo of stellar-surface reconstruction running on a Gakken spherical display from Japan, driven by a Raspberry Pi with custom rendering tools: Gakkenberry.
I like to show all kinds of spherical surfaces on my Gakken (spherical harmonics and stars so far..). For example, measurements of a star's photocenter jitter (astrometry) can be inverted to map an unresolved surface. Neat. The demo has been shown at the Electronic Imaging 2026 conference and through the University of Michigan's NSF Science Communication Fellows program.
